Webalo, Inc. announced today the general availability of a new version of its cloud-based enterprise mobility service. The product upgrade makes it possible to deliver Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to any smartphone or tablet so that mobile users can monitor, analyze, and act on real-time operational intelligence (RtOI) – the type of information that reflects how well the business is running.
This upgrade builds on Webalo’s ability to simultaneously monitor multiple backend applications and data sources from numerous vendors, including a range of BI platforms and ERP systems from IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Salesforce.com, in-house custom-built applications, or any other enterprise application vendor. With Webalo, users can receive sophisticated analytics on their smartphones or tablets, that provide real-time panoramic views of the enterprise, allowing them to determine what’s happening and, if anything needs to be done, take action directly from their device."
Webalo can be easily configured to display dashboards on users’ home screens so they can view KPIs in real time and, when there are deviations from normal, click on an icon to drilldown for more detail about the cause of particular problems so they can take immediate action – from their smartphone or tablet – to correct it.
"As the sole plant supplier to more than 150 Home Depot Inc. garden centers across seven states, we rely on Webalo to equip hundreds of our employees with the tools they need to optimize daily replenishment in all of our store locations," said Joe Perret, Vice President, Systems and Technology of Bell Nursery, one of the nation's largest greenhouse growers with growing operations in Maryland, Virginia, and Ohio. "Webalo’s mobility solution not only helps us track inventory levels and trends, but also enables our store employees to perform real-time transactions, ensuring accurate replenishment that meets customer demand. A comprehensive mobility solution is critical to the success of our business, and we are delighted to partner with Webalo."
Analysts understand the need for panoramic access to real-time actionable analytics from multiple backend sources, but they recognize the limitations of current technologies, which only provide very narrow key-hole views of information – without the ability to take action based on the information.
According to Gartner, "Most real-time dashboards that are used to monitor business operations today provide only a narrow ‘key-hole’ view of situations. The visibility that they offer is limited to one application system or a single operational activity. For example, they may display one or a few key performance indicators (KPIs) from a system that processes mortgage applications, or they may show metrics on the volume of customer and prospect activity on the company's web site, but not both." *Gartner, Inc., Gartner, Predicts: 2013: Adoption of Mobile BI and Real-Time Dashboards Will Improve BI Pervasiveness, Daniel Yuen, Roy Schulte, et al, December 14, 2012.
"It’s no longer enough for mobile applications to passively monitor enterprise information," said Webalo CEO, Peter Price. "Users need a mobility platform that gives them the tools they need to collect and analyze business critical information and that is also powerful enough to let them act on that information from a convenient, always-available mobile device. This will take enterprise mobility to the next level, making smartphones and tablets even more vital for day-to-day interactions."
Webalo is enterprise mobility the way it’s meant to be – easy, fast, and affordable. It can be configured in minutes to deliver secure, interactive, bi-directional, transactional mobile access to the enterprise applications, data, and real-time operational intelligence employees rely on to do their jobs – all for pennies an app. It’s 100x faster than traditional mobile application development, a fraction of the cost, simple enough for anyone to master, and powerful enough to let users take action directly from their smartphones and tablets. Webalo reduces the burden on IT, lowers overhead (by eliminating development software, coding, consultants, and technologies for managing and distributing mobile apps), extends the value of enterprise applications, and leverages the full computing power of smartphones and tablets. Founded in 2000, Los Angeles-based Webalo is privately held. Additional information about Webalo's products, customers, and partners is available at www.webalo.com.
