The Webalo Mobile Dashboard is the first on-demand service for ensuring that employees can access the information they need in an actionable format on their handheld devices – any wirelessly-connected BlackBerry, Treo, PocketPC, Palm, or smartphone. It is offered as an IBM hosted SaaS service that provides anywhere, anytime access to spreadsheet-based reports. Sales forecasts, inventory status, staff utilization, and other key performance data can be delivered automatically to decision makers, regardless of their location or the type of mobile device they prefer.

Using a standard web interface, an administrator sets up permissions for each individual user, and formats the reports by answering questions in a simple step-by-step Q&A process. As soon as new versions of the reports are sent to the hosted Webalo Service, which transforms the file into the correct (and easily readable) format for each mobile device, they are distributed instantly. That gives salespeople, field service personnel, executives – anyone who uses wirelessly-connected handhelds – the most current information on the spot.

Unlike middleware, which requires a separate setup for each type of device, or file viewers that require users to "pan-and-scan" through documents and don't adapt them to the dimensions of mobile devices' small screens, Webalo automatically transforms each report for each device's display to make the report easily readable and simple to navigate.
